More Thomas Toys Recalled For Potential Lead Poisoning

That's right, Thomas toys with the potential to cause lead poisoning continued to be sold even after the previous massive recall. This time they've recalled the all-black cargo car, toad vehicle, olive green sodor cargo box and all-green maple tree top and signal base accessories. If you think you have these, click through to the CPSC press release for info on what to do next.

Ugh. Yeah I saw this late last night, Cathy. We have umpteen million Thomas trains in our house. Our son is (well was) crazy obssessed with them. He still likes them but now his younger brother is getting into them. We already sent back a ton of items for the first recall ($13 shipping worth), and I think we have every single one of the ones listed in this recall round. Grrrrrr.

"Ugh" is right! I'm so grateful that Alex hasn't gotten into trains, but I'm in huge trouble if they start recalling construction vehicles!

Sadly, I'm sure they will. I have a very bad feeling that all this recall action is just the tip of the tip of the iceberg... Now that everyone is going to look at every product with a fine-tooth comb, they're going to find a ton of bad bad news.

Unfortunately, you're probably right. I am having Marc pick up a home lead-testing kit the next time he goes to the hardware store.
