Walgreens Starter Transactions

Hopefully my post from earlier today gave you an idea of how Register Rewards at Walgreens can be rolled to keep saving you money.

Here are a few transactions to help you get started with minimal out of pocket expenses:

Transaction #1:
1 Vitamin Schtik Lip Care $1.99

Pay: $1.99 + tax
Receive: $2 RR

Transaction #2:
1 Blink Tears $7.99
1 Valentine’s Tumbler 17 cents with in-ad coupon

- $2/1 Blink from 1/31 RP or $1.50/1 printable coupon
- $2 RR

Pay: $2.16 4.16 + tax (thanks, Sarah and Kim!)
Receive: $8 RR

Transaction #3:
1 Salpicin Medicated Wipes $5.99
1 Vitamin Schtik Lip Care $1.99
2 Keebler Club Crackers (or Cheez-It Baked Snack Crackers) 2/$5

- $1 Salpicin printable coupon (alas, it seems to have reached its print limit)
- 2 x $1/1 Keebler Club Crackers from 1/31 Parade magazine (or
$1/2 Keebler Crackers and/or Sunshine Cheez-It Baked Snack Crackers, any 7.5oz from 12/13 RP)
- $8 RR

Pay: $1.98 + tax
Receive: $6 RR for Salpicin, $2 RR for Vitamin Schtick, and $2 RR for Keebler

Summary: Pay $6.13 8.13 + tax; Get 2 Vitamin Schtick Lip Care, 1 Blink Tears, 1 Valentine’s Tumbler, 1 Salpicin Medicated Wipes, and 2 Keebler Crackers for, plus have $10 in Register Rewards for your next transaction

If you’re new to The Drugstore Game, you may be thinking to yourself, But I don’t need all of those things! So let’s say you just want the lip balm and the crackers. As long as you spend that $10 in RR that you have left wisely, you’ve gotten the items that you do want for free.

How do you spend that $10 in RR wisely? Hold on to it for next week’s deals. Or, if that doesn’t work for you, use it to stock up on some of the sale items – there’s 69-cent Swanson chicken broth, $2.79 gallons of milk, $2.99 nuts, B1G1 paper plates, etc.

Tia’s Saving Cents has some $5 Walgreens transactions, if you're looking for more ideas.

And don't forget to check out the CVS starter transactions that I posted yesterday.

    I'm confused about Transaction #2. $7.99+$0.17 - $2 coupon - $2 RR = $4.16, not $2.16. What am I missing?
