The Drugstore Game This Week: Starter CVS Transactions 3/7 - 3/13/10

If you're new to playing The Drugstore Game, these transactions should help you get started. If you don't understand the transactions, read my Drugstore Game Primer, Common Sense with Money's FAQ, and my explanation of How to Play The Drugstore Game at CVS.

You'll find a list of this week's CVS deals here. In these transactions, I assume that you do not have any ECBs to start with.

Transaction #1:
1 Nivea Lip Care $2.99

Pay: $2.99
Receive: $2.99 ECB


Transaction #2:
2 Pantene Shampoo or Conditioner

- $3/2 Pantene Hair from 3/7 P&G
- $2.99 ECB

Pay: 98 cents + tax
Receive: $2 ECB


Transaction #3:
1 Oral B Cross Action toothbrush $4

- 75 cents/1 Oral B CrossAction , Advantage any one or any two Indicator toothbrushes from 2/7 or 2/21 P&G
- $2 ECB

Pay: $1.25 + tax
Receive: $4 ECB


Transaction #4:
1 Oral B Cross Action toothbrush $4
1 filler approx 75 cents

- 75 cents/1 Oral B CrossAction , Advantage any one or any two Indicator toothbrushes from 2/7 or 2/21 P&G
- $4 ECB

Pay: tax
Receive: $4 ECB
(according to my ad, the limit on this deal is 2)

Transaction #5:
1 Gillette Fusion Razor $8.99

- $4/1 Fusion from 2/7 P&G
- $4 ECB

Pay: 99 cents + tax
Receive: $4 ECB


Summary: Pay $6.21 + tax and have $4 ECB for next week, plus all of the above items.

    Thank you for all of these scenarios. I could only find one of the toothbrush coupons, and mine was for $1 off. I ended up doing the first three transactions the way you suggested, but then I used my $4 ECB and a $1 Tide Coupon to get some detergent for $1 and 1 ECB back. So I got the Nivea, the Pantene, the toothbrush, and detergent for $6. That's one of my best deals so far. :)

    Kristen - I was wondering about using the BOGO coupon, but I didn't think it listed the correct kind of toothbrush on it.
