Morning Coffee: Changes ahead

I hit Walgreens and Rite Aid yesterday, so I've updated those starter transaction posts with some additional info. (I'm skipping CVS this week.) Later today, I'll have some info on what you can expect here at CFO with respect to The Drugstore Game.

Common Sense with Money has some Drugstore Game updates: a Prevacid moneymaker at Rite Aid and free Purex detergent at Walgreens. And here I thought I was done with my Walgreens deals for the week!

Today's Amazon Video Game Deal of the Dayis Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes for just $12.98. I probably would have gotten this for Alex, but the Wii version isn't included in the sale - it's just Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo DS. Disclosure: I'm an Amazon affiliate, so any purchase you make after entering Amazon through a link on Chief Family Officer supports this site at no additional cost to you. Thank you!

Today's the day to get a coupon for free cookies with the purchase of milk by becoming a Facebook fan of Nabisco.

Bargain Briana has this week's Menard's, Kmart and Marsh deals.

The Girl Scouts have recalled some Lemon Chalet Crème Cookies.

Get a printable coupon for $1/4 Lean Cuisine. These are on sale at Pavilions (Safeway) for $1.78 through tomorrow. (Via Printable Coupons and Deals.)

Mommy Snacks has the monthly deals at Walgreens.

The Stockpile Pic of the Day is from originalsixx at A Full Cup.

I just discovered that at least some Lucerne milk (Safeway's store brand) is RBST-free. Since I figure it can't hurt to avoid extra hormones, I always buy RBST-free or organic milk and I'm thrilled to have another brand I can buy.

Get a sneak peek at Wednesday's Safeway ad (keep in mind there may be regional differences).

    Just a heads up if you have not made it back to Walgreens to try the Purex deal. When I went to check out the bottles rand up $3 and $2.99 each instead of BOGO Free so I paid $1.50 a bottle instead of nothing. I still bought 4 bottles because this is a brand I prefer and $1.50 is my target price but it was still disappointing. FWIW- I bought the FREE & Clear type so it could be just that variety.

    @Crayola - Thanks!

    @Tia - Thank you for the heads up! I haven't gone yet, but I am planning to and now I'll be prepared for that. Although, I get HE detergent and I've yet to see that at Walgreens so I'm not expecting them to have it. (I'm going to a different store but still, I don't think they'll have it. But I have to pick up my free 8x10 from last week anyway. And I would really LIKE to get free detergent ...)
