Midmorning Coffee: Lots of deals

The Simple Dollar is a well-written personal finance web site by Trent Hamm, and today the Kindle edition of his book,The Simple Dollar: How One Man Wiped Out His Debts and Achieved the Life of His Dreams,is available for free. You don't have to have a Kindle to read it - just use one of the free Kindle apps- they're available for PC, Mac, iPhone, Blackberry, Android and iPad. I found it surprisingly easy to read a novel on my Droid, so I'm definitely getting The Simple Dollar while it's free.

Another freebie at Amazon is the mp3 version of Suzanne Vega's Tom's Diner.

Amazon also has the mp3 version of Katy Perry's summer album Teenage Dream, for just $3.99. This is the album with "Biggest Hit Song of the Summer" California Gurls.Disclosure: I'm an Amazon affiliate, so any purchase you make after entering Amazon through a link on Chief Family Officer supports this site at no additional cost to you. Thank you!

I'm seeing reports that 2-liters of Gold Emblem Orange Soda (and possibly cola) are on sale for $1, and generating a $1 ECB, making them free (limit 1).

Wild for Wags reports that there's a new $5 Walgreens calendar for 2011 with coupons inside. Fortunately for us, she lists the coupons so you can see whether the calendar is worth $5. I'm in agreement with her that it's better to wait and hope that the calendars will end up on clearance after the new year.

Get a printable coupon (pdf) for 2 free 5x7 Instant HP Photo Cards at Walmart. (I think this is the same coupon that was in yesterday's Parade magazine.)
