Midmorning Coffee: Instead of Black Friday, they should call it Black Week

"Black Week" may not have the same ring as "Black Friday," but it would be more accurate considering all the deals I'm seeing today. Amazon in particular has been busy:

There are Black Friday Lightning Deals all day today. Some of them are hidden, but you can also see some of the deals coming up, including Mark Bittman's How to Cook Everything at 8 a.m. PST, Keith Urban's Get Closer album at 9 a.m., and a BPA stainless steel water bottle at 4 p.m. Disclosure: I'm an Amazon affiliate, so any purchase you make after entering Amazon through a link on Chief Family Officer supports this site at no additional cost to you. Thank you!

Video Game Lightning Deals start at 8:15 a.m. and the last one will be at 4:15 p.m. - it looks like there will be five of them today.

The hottest deal right now is $3 in free mp3 credit when you enter code GET3MP3S here. You can get the Michael Bublé Christmas album for free. Or do what I did and get two or three songs for free (I chose the Glee Cast versions of Last Christmas and Merry Christmas Darling for $1.29 each - can you tell I grew up in the 80's?).

Also, check out the Black Friday album deals, because Amazon is offering new releases for just $3.99, including those by My Chemical Romance, Ne-Yo, and Kanye West.

Over in the Movies & TV department, there are more Lightning Deals all day. And you can also get The Blind Side DVD for just $3.99. Plus, get a $4 Video on Demand credit if you haven't gotten it already.

Amazon's free mp3 of the day is Heartbreaker by Girls.

Today at Groupon, you can get a $20 voucher to The Counter for $10 in Chicago. The Counter is a popular build-your-own-burger restaurant with multiple locations, mostly in California. I've had their food and I wouldn't say it's to die for, but it's certainly good and you can have a lot of fun with your combinations. The Groupon is for dine-in only, and expires 5/16/11. To get this deal, click on "Visit More Cities" at the top of the page to change your city to Chicago - there are no site restrictions, so you should be able to use the Groupon at any Counter location, but I've got an email in to Groupon just to check and I'll update this post when I hear back. (Update: Thanks to Michelle for letting me know that the Groupon is for the Chicago store only!) You can also get a $10 credit when someone signs up using your referral link and makes their first purchase (thank you if you join using my referral link!). Don't forget to shop through Ebates to get back 3% of your purchase.

If you're a Ralphs shopper, be sure to check the comments to this week's ad match ups because there have been some great additions. Thank you for sharing the deals that you've found!

Office Depot is offering "Black Monday" deals today.

Life As Mom explains how to make a Tangled/Rapunzel-themed cake.

A Thrifty Mom reports that you can make money on Vicks Sinex at Rite Aid this week.

And finally, I'm going to skip the starter Drugstore Game deals this week because the pre-Black Friday deals are pretty slow.
