Morning Coffee: Decluttering is a gift to your loved ones

I don't follow FlyLady's routines religiously, but I find that just reading the daily digest email helps me keep focused on what's important and my house stays cleaner and I'm happier. Monday's email included a testimonial from a woman who'd inherited her mother's estate, who in turn had inherited six other estates. It took the woman 2 1/2 years to go through the hundreds of boxes! Leaving all that clutter doesn't do your loved ones any favors, and in fact, leaving an organized, uncluttered estate may be the best thing you can give them while they're grieving. While I'm no pack rat, this perspective helps me see that I still have a lot of stuff I can get rid of!

Amazon's free mp3 of the day is one of my favorite songs of the moment: Celebrate by Mitchel Musso.

my grandfather was an ultimate hoarder. he passed away 2 and a half years ago. my grandmother passed away about 10 years ago and my dad's sister had been heartbroken that it appeared her wedding ring had been stolen but my dad happened to stumble across it in a random box just before christmas so everyone is happy now but it would have saved years of distress if my grandfather had kept track of important things better

@Carrie - Oh, yes, I'm glad your grandmother's ring was found but so sorry that your family had to suffer first!
