Morning Coffee: Yippee!

Here's another big shout out to Freebies 4 Mom, whose list of winnable sweeps helped me just win a Playstation Move package from My Coke Rewards (retail value of $500)! Thanks, Heather!

I'm starting to buy more groceries from Amazon, when the price per unit is less than I can get even with a sale and a coupon. For instance, yesterday, I bought four 16-oz bags of Bob's Red Mill Baking Powder for $10.25 with Subscribe & Save (which I'll later cancel) - that's 16 cents/ounce, whereas I was looking at 37 cents per ounce at Ralphs. I've been using a lot of baking powder, what with all of the biscuits and quick breads I've been making, so this makes sense for me. I recently discovered that there is a Grocery Deal of the Day as well as daily Lightning Deals on the same page. Today's deal is on MOCAFE Precious Divinity Spiced Chai Tea Mix, and the Lightning Deals include Diet Pepsi at 10 a.m. PST and organic maple syrup at 2 p.m. Disclosure: I'm an Amazon affiliate, so any purchase you make after entering Amazon through a link on Chief Family Officer supports this site at no additional cost to you. Thank you!

Thanks for the baking powder tip. I bought it through your link. We've been making and freezing pumpkin whole wheat pancakes for the kids morning meals -- and using lots of baking powder.

@Becky - Thank you! It's amazing how quickly I go through the stuff now, when I used to have cans that expired since I only used a teaspoon or two on occasion. Now I'm using them by the tablespoon(s) almost every day!

@Gina & Kimberly - Thank you! The boys are a little too young to know what's coming, but they'll be quite excited when it gets here and they realize that they can now play Marvel vs. Capcom, lol!
